Worrisome: Presidency Confirms Robbery Incident In Villa

The residences of Chief of Staff (CoS) to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and that of Administrative Officer, Abubakar Maikano were targets of robbery attacks on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Located within the precincts of the Presidential Villa, Aso-Rock, Abuja, both houses came under what Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu described as a “burglary attempt”.

The Presidential spokesman, who partly confirmed the incident in a series of tweets on Monday evening, said there was indeed an unsuccessful attempt to burgle Gambari’s house, situated just few meters away from the State House, Abuja.

According to his verified twitter handle, @GarShehu; “The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”

However, media reports said the presidential spokesman could not confirm the claimed attack on Maikano’s residence.

The reports further stated that the man officially christened ‘AO’ within the Villa has been unreachable as calls to his phone failed to go through.
