Ronaldinho Returns COVID-19 Positive Test
Former FIFA World Footballer of the year and Brazil striker, Ronaldinho Gaucho on Sunday disclosed his COVID-19 positive status and confirmed that he is self-isolating.
Reports said the ex-FC Barcelona and Paris St-Germain (PSG) play maker was in Belo Horizonte, where he played for local side Atletico Mineiro, when he received the test diagnosis.
According to him, “I arrived in BH (Belo Horizonte) yesterday (Saturday) and I took the COVID test, I tested positive, I am good, asymptomatic so far.”
The two-times FIFA World Player of the year said he would remain in a hotel until his condition improved.
Accused of entering Paraguay with a fake passport earlier in the year, the charismatic forward spent a month in the country’s jail with his brother and business manager.
During his hey days on the pitch, the enfant terrible of Brazilian football, Ronaldinho also featured for Italian side, AC Milan and Flamengo FC of Brazil.
Considered by many football pundits as the master of ball trickery, he was deployed mostly as an attacking midfielder for both clubs and country, aside from having roles as a forward or a winger.
One of his last port of call playing professional soccer was at Brazilian club, Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, commonly known as Grêmio. – With agency reports
