Senator Oduah’s Arraignment Over Alleged Fraud Stalled

The inability of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to serve two suspects on Monday stalled the arraignment of the former Minister of Aviation, Senator Stella Oduah over an alleged fraud before a Federal High Court, Abuja.

When the case up for mentioned at the Court presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo, Counsel to the EFCC, Dr. Hassan Liman SAN, informed the Court that the 5th and 6th suspects in the matter were yet to be served with the Court processes.

Accordingly, Justice Ekwo adjourned the case which was earlier fixed for February 9, 2021 for arraignment to April 19, 2021 to enable the suspects to take their plea.

The trial Judge said that since Senator Stella Oduah was yet to be served with the court processes, the arraignment could not go on.

Senator Uduah, who is presently representing Anambra North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, is facing an alleged case of alongside eight others in a suit with number: FHC/ABJ/CR/316/20.

The EFCC which is handling the case is alleging that Oduah misappropriated public funds to the tune of N5 billion while serving as Minister of Aviation.
