President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described his vice, Senator Kashim Shettima as a loyal and dependable partner in the mission to transform Nigeria.
He said his choice of Shettima as his running mate in 2023, was a deliberate decision to work with someone of proven character, intellect, and patriotism.
Tinubu, who stated these while felicitating with Shettima on his 59th birthday, said the Vice President has consistently demonstrated reliability, competence, and devotion to the vision of national renewal.
He said; “My brother, co-traveller and Vice President, your vibrancy, courage, determination, and unwavering faith in our country have been remarkable. You are a reliable and loyal partner in the Renewed Hope Agenda, and I deeply appreciate your commitment”.
In the words of Tinubu; “Every day since then,” he added, “you have justified that decision with your steadfast service and loyalty to Nigeria.”
The President praised Shettima’s political journey, from his two terms as Governor of Borno State to his tenure as Senator for Borno Central, saying that his record of leadership is built on service rather than privilege.
Tinubu commended Shettima’s active role in implementing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda—particularly in advancing food security, driving investment reforms, expanding educational and healthcare opportunities, and fostering sustainable job creation.
He also said that Shettima has also been instrumental in strengthening global partnerships for Nigeria’s growth and development.
President Tinubu described his partnership with Shettima as symbolic of Nigeria’s unity, bridging regional and traditional divides with mutual respect and shared purpose.
Tinubu wished Vice President Shettima many more years in good health, and also prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and continued impactful service to the nation.
