Southern Kaduna: Herdsmen Kill Farmer At Asso

The relative peace in Southern Kaduna was on Sunday evening shattered, as suspected herdsmen invaded and destroyed a cassava farm, leading to the killing of the owner of the farm located in Asso in Kagoma Chiefdom, near Kafanchan.
A source told Forefront on Monday that security personnel have been drafted to the area to arrest the herdsmen and avoid a breakdown of law and order.
“Just yesterday (Sunday), herders brought their cattle to Asso where they grazed on a cassava farm. The owner of the farm protested, and he was killed by the herdsmen. The relatives of the dead farmer reacted by attempting to carry out a reprisal attack, but the security personnel were quickly deployed to avoid any breakdown of law and order. Everything has been brought under control,” the source added.
An unconfirmed report put the death toll at two, while others alleged that those killed in the incident were more than two.
