Sowore Escapes Death From Police Bullet At Abuja Unity Fountain

The leader of ‘Revolution Now Movement’ and publisher of Saharareporters online newspaper, Mr Omoyele Sowore, on Monday morning narrowly escaped death by the whiskers as he was shot by the police.

Sowore, who was at the Unity Fountain in Abuja leading some other activists to protest against worsening insecurity in the country was shot at by woman police ACP identified as Atine whose bullet from her gun brushed his stomach leaving a cut.

It was gathered that the police woman claimed that she was targeting Sowore’s thigh but the bullet flew higher than her target brushing his stomach.

A picture of the bullet shot on Sowore which is trending, showed that he would have been dead but for mother luck as bullet visibly left a cut on his stomach.

As at the time of filing this report, Sowore was being taken away by other activists to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Confirming the development, Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, wrote on his Twitter handle stating; “The criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook.

“This is what Nigeria has been turned into under Buhari. They’ve declared war on the Civic Space.”
