StarTimes Nigeria Donates 6,000 Facemasks To FG

StarTimes Nigeria has donated 6,000 facemasks to Nigeria as part of its contribution to the Federal Government’s fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.

The company is a subsidiary of StarTimes Media, a Chinese-based outfit that offers Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Network Services in Nigeria.

Describing the donation as its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards fighting the scourge, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of StarTimes Nigeria, Mr David Zhang also disclosed that the firm has added an educational channel on their platform to assist students’ learning in this COVID-19 period.

Mr Zhang noted the current robust partnership between Nigeria and China, even as he expressed the company’s resolve to continuously support the country in every way possible.

Receiving the StarTimes’ delegation at the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning in Abuja on Friday, the Minister, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, commended the company for its kind and friendly gesture.

According to her, “StarTimes has proven over time that it is a reliable partner” in the nation’s media industry.

Mrs Ahmed, who acknowledged that Nigeria has enjoyed the company’s cordial relationship over the years, said the development is a testimonial of the huge benefits available to the country in a thriving Public Private Partnership (PPP) deal.
