Stop Destroying Buhari’s Billboards – APC To Gov Ishaku
BY AMEH IDUJAGI JALINGO – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to refrain from destroying the campaign billboards of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC in Jalingo, the State capital
The opposition party’s warning is coming less than 48 hours to the planned visit of President Buhari for the APC presidential campaign rally in Taraba State.
Accusing the Governor and PDP of political intolerance, the APC blamed them for masterminding the consistent destruction of the President and APC’s campaign billboards and posters across the State
Director General of Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi Gubernatorial Campaign organization (SADGCO), Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama, made the allegation in Jalingo as the APC heightens preparations to receive President Buhari who is expected in the state on Thursday
Kaigama said intelligence indicated that Governor Ishaku allegedly contracted some PDP’s thugs and agents to demolish and deface all APC campaign billboards and materials, including that of Mr President.
According to him, “It is not only worrisome, but surprising that a Governor and his party will condescend to the point of ordering the destruction of all billboards mounted by the APC, in honour of President Buhari, billed to visit Taraba tomorrow”
The Campaign Director further said; “How can a Governor, who throughout his three and half years in office achieved nothing in the State, be so desperate and want to come back by all means.
“We are not deterred by all the attacks from Ishaku and his failed government.”
Bragging about APC’s continuous inroad into Taraba politics, Kaigama said: “Come out tomorrow and see the crowd that will willingly come out to welcome Baba Buhari, not like the rented and sponsored scanty individuals that attended the PDP and Atiku’s rally yesterday.”
However, in his reaction, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Bala Dan Abu, described Kaigama’s claims as cheap blackmail that should be ignored by all well meaning people of Taraba State.
He said; “In fact, it was even the APC that destroyed the PDP billboards about two days ago. Governor Darius is too big and civilized to think of sponsoring anybody to demolish APC billboards. This allegation is callous; it stands reason on the head and cannot hold water.”
Meanwhile, reports coming in from Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital indicate that some APC billboards donning the President’s pictures and that of the APC gubernatorial flag-bearer, Alhaji Sani Danladi Abubakar, have either been defaced or pulled down.
