BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – The pan-Yoruba Cultural group, AFENIFERE has announced that the Ondo State Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police has arrested four suspects connected to the killing of Mrs Funke Olakurin, the daughter of its Leader, Chief R. F. Fasoranti.
The arrest is coming after nine months of her bruatal murder.
A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of AFENIFERE, Mr. Yinka Odumakin and made available to Forefront News, states that three of the arrested suspects so far, are from the northern part of the country.
Odumakin further said that the arrested suspect have made useful confessions to the police.
While commending the dedicated SARS officers, who made the arrest, AFENIFERE however said that it is awaiting a thorough investigation to follow.
According to AFENIFERE; “We have resolved to encourage the police to do their job properly. We appreciate all Nigerians who have encouraged our 94-year-old Leader in this troubling season.”
“It is our prayer that criminals will not go unpunished again in our country.”
The Nigeria Police is yet to comment on the arrests of the four suspected killers of the daughter of the leader of AFENIFERE.
