The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO), on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, dismissed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council as a “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition”, declaring that the APC is on a collision course with the will of the Nigerian people.
The MDPCO also described the APC Council as a haven of internationally discredited and politically inconsistent characters and corrupt politicians intoxicated by the arrogance of power, imperial ambition and the dangerous illusion that political influence can substitute for public trust and democratic legitimacy.
It noted that the “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” is headed for the rocks as it cannot whitewash the failures of the Tinubu administration, nor rewrite the painful realities confronting citizens.
A statement by the Director Strategic Communications of the MDPCO, Richard Ihediwa. Stressed that the Tinubu Campaign Council cannot manufacture public acceptance through a parade of “political predators” and power drunk elites who are mistaking political dominance for public acceptance.
The statement further stated that with the high confidence that President Tinubu reposed in the alliance of failed governors, yes-along legislators, and discredited politicians some of whom are fleeing from corruption investigations.
The MDPCO said; “Even as his administration presides over an unprecedented economic crisis, worsening insecurity and a devastating collapse of public confidence, we see in the APC Presidential Campaign Council imminent political humiliation.
“History is replete with the humiliation of those who mistake transitory power for permanence while reinforcing their illusions by surrounding themselves with compensated loyalists and sycophantic, who do not command the loyalty or followership of the people, rather than confront stark reality of failures.
“What explanation will the “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” offer Nigerians for the 140 million citizens (63% of the population) now trapped in multidimensional poverty according to World Bank Report and the 113 million experiencing deprivation in health, education and other basics occasioned by President Tinubu’s misrule?
“What explanation will the Tinubu-led “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” offer millions of families who go to bed every night on empty stomach and our teeming hardworking youths whose destinies have been fractured by pervasive unemployment worsened by President Tinubu’s anti-people policies?
“What defence can it possibly offer for the Federal Government’s own admission that 70 per cent of Nigerian children under the age of 10 cannot read and understand a simple sentence, as disclosed by the National Coordinator of Human Capital Development?,” it asked.
The MDPCO further said that these are not mere statistics, but damning indicators of the depth of Nigeria’s socio-economic distress and the erosion of human capital.
It noted that at such a time of ruin, when families struggle to survive and an alarming proportion of the children face a foundational crisis of hunger, homelessness and illiteracy, the APC’s den of political hawks are no answers to accountability and demonstrable results.
MDPCO stated that President Tinubu is on a collision course with the people, stressing that he faces a defining battle between the arrogance of power and the democratic resolve of a battered population, driven to the brink by deepening socio-economic hardship, for which they ultimately seek liberation.
It said; “No coalition or power of incumbency can insulate President Tinubu from the consequences of misrule. None can extinguish mounting public grievances, erase the memory of broken promises or override the people’s constitutional right to demand accountability and change.
“The APC can further enlarge their “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” but it certainly cannot assemble the Nigerian people by force of political influence.
“Elections are not won by the size of a campaign council or the number of powerful figures gathered. They are won by the confidence of citizens who must ultimately decide whether their lives have improved under the government seeking their votes.
“In every democracy, the ultimate verdict belongs to the people, and no presidential campaign council, however imposing, can stand between a disillusioned people and their determination for a change through the ballot,” it stated.
The MDPCO emphasized that its campaign is therefore not fazed by the “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” as Nigerians are already queued behind Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), whose RESET NIGERIA agenda promises a new national direction anchored on service, productivity, accountability, dignity of life and prosperity for all Nigerians.
