You’re Corrupt, Ungrateful – PDP Chieftain Berates OBJ
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bigwig in Plateau State, Mr Alexander Mwolwu, has labelled former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an ungrateful and corrupt Nigerian leader.
Accusing the ex-President of obvious bias and plotting to discredit the country’s main opposition party that made him, Mwolwu said, “he never knew how PDP was formed but all the same we picked him up from nowhere and made him President in 1999.”
Mwolwu, who also said Obasanjo is fraudulently promoting the Social Democratic Party (SDP), described his recent statement about the PDP as “very unfortunate’’ and “selfish in nature’’
“Obasanjo was never a member of PDP but out to sheer pity and magnanimity, the party brought him out of prison and made him president on a platter of gold”, adding that; “We made him who is today, yet he had the guts to spit and shout against us”, Mwolwu told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Pankshin, Plateau State
The PDP Chieftain also accused the ex-president of introducing corruption and corrupting the National Assembly with his failed third term ambition, noting that he (Obasanjo) corruptly sold out government property to his cronies and spent billions of Naira on electricity with Nigerians still living in darkness.
Mwolwu insisted that PDP’s apology to Nigerians through its National Chairman is “a right step in the right direction”, adding that; “Only great men own up to their mistakes.
“If PDP had apologized wilfully haven owned up to its mistakes, I shouldn’t be castigated for that because every human organization has its own limitations.
“Even though OBJ’s plots to discredit PDP to promote his own political party, SDP, he seems to have missed it and not knowing what he is doing. He is the most ungrateful and corrupt Nigerian leader, who never knew how PDP was formed.
“But all the same, his party will not be anywhere close to having the confidence of Nigerians if that is the way he wants to go drumming for support to it.”
Speaking on alleged looters’ list released by the Federal Government, Mwolwu said it was lopsided and unreal since the names of those who jumped from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) were conspicuously missing.
“By that list, President Buhari ended up disappointing his ardent admirers and supporters. If people who looted and jumped into APC and those in APC that were caught red handed are not in the list, but only PDP members, then there is question mark on it (list)”, he alleged.
The Party stalwart urged Nigerians to shun the game plans of both APC and Obasanjo, just as he charged them to keep faith with the PDP that has not only realized its mistakes, but is set to offer the country purpose leadership come 2019.
The former President had on Monday urged Nigerians to reject the apology offered by PDP few weeks back, describing it as a corrupt political party.
