- Says It’s Payback Time For Non-performers
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Catholic Bishop of Kafanchan, Rev Dr Joseph Danlami Bagobiri, has condemned the nonchalance by elected representatives from Southern Kaduna in the face of what he described as injustices foisted on innocent citizens of the area by the Kaduna State government.
He said given all the atrocities against the Southern Kaduna people, those that have kept mum and betrayed the public’s trust should not be supported for any political office come 2019.
Addressing the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) Youth wing meeting with a theme; “Revisiting the Political Participation of Southern Kaduna: The role of the Youths”, the clergy stated that, “It is a payback time for those members of the Kaduna State House of assembly who kept mum over the injustices being unleash on their people.
“They have been there and seeing what Governor El-Rufai is doing, is only the religious leaders that are doing the talking, but these politicians are saying nothing, they should never be supported again.”
Bishop Bagobiri told the SOKAPU Youth meeting, which was chaired by Justice Makeri, first President Kaduna State Customary Court of Appeal that the time has come for Southern Kaduna surveyors to take a critical look at Kaduna North and Kaduna South, which in actual sense should be referred to as Kaduna East and Kaduna West in Geography.
According to him, “Take a look at the map, this is the injustice that has been done that Kaduna East is being described as Kaduna South with Tudun Wada in it, and Kaduna West is being described as Kaduna North.”
The Catholic Bishop said with the unjust political situation and configuration in place, there is no hope that the Southern Kaduna people can ever win an election into the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House as the State Chief Executive.
Bishop Bagobiri challenged the Southern Kaduna people to become more focused, united and politically active to chart a new course, adding that; “Our agenda must aim towards addressing these issues because if it is not addressed, we would not have addressed anything at all.”
