4 Female Suicide Bombers Kill 10, Injure 65 In Maiduguri

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – Four female suicide bombers on Wednesday detonated and killed ten people and injured 65 others in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Expectedly, the Emergency Response Team of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA) and Red Cross were on hand responding to the devastating effect of the suicide bombers’ action.

A statement by the Information officer of NEMA, North East Zone, Abdulkadir Ibrahim said the incident occurred around Muna Garage, along Mafa Dikwa Road in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Ibrahim said the joint rescue team responded to 65 injured people who were given first aid and transported to hospitals and confirmed that 10 people lost their lives in the bombing incident. 

The NEMA spokesman said that preliminary reports indicate that four female suicide bombers were responsible for the blast which took place at about 17.05 on Wednesday.

He however said further details will be provided by security agencies in due course
