Aisha Achimugu’s Lavish 50th Birthday Party In Grenada

An Abuja-based multi-billionaire businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu, last week, set the media wave ranging as she raised the bar of festivities by hosting a seven-day lavish 50th birthday celebration in the Caribbean Island in Grenada.

The events witnessed invited guests alternate between Calivigny Island and Silversand, an exotic five-year-old seven-star luxury resort located at Grand Anse Beach.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was among guests who attended the events which kicked off on January 16 during which Sanwo-Olu met with the Grenadian Prime Minister, Dickon Michelle.

Achimugu, whose husband Sulaiman Achimugu died in 2020 from COVID-19 complications, is said to have spent nearly $1 million (more than N1 billion) to rent the island for an entire week.

This was as it was gathered that the cost of a night at the Silversands Resort begins from of $1,060 (N1,378,000) per person while renting Calvigny Island costs about $30,000 (over N39 million) per night.

Similarly, the prices for the private island also vary from $30,000 to $165,000 per night — depending on the time of year.

Released pictures amid reports showed that Sanwo-Olu travelled to party with Aisha Achimugu in Grenada just as guests who attended the events were treated to kayaking, swimming, treasure hunting, bonfires, exotic meals, music, and cocktails among others.

Among the musicians who performed at the various events were Kenny G (American saxophonist and composer), Waje, Flavour, Adekunle Gold, Asake and Mr Killa (a Grenada musician).

Achimugu created a website aishaachimugu50th.com specifically for the birthday celebration. The website contains details about visa arrangements, standby chauffeurs, travel itineraries, and the closest airport to the event location, among others.

Born on January 22, 1974, Achimigu attended Federal Government Girls Science School, Kuje, Abuja and got a bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 1998 at the University of Jos.

She is the managing director/CEO of Felak Concept Group which began as an engineering firm and has diversified into maritime, consultancy, and environmental waste management among others.

The businesswoman has three children.

Achimugu is expected to host another birthday party at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Friday, January 26 at 6 pm while the her birthday bash will be rounded up with a dinner party at the International Conference Centre on Saturday, starting from 8:30 pm.
