Andaha Students In Shock As Governor Sule Failed To Inspect Their Dilapidated Structures
BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – The hope of the students of Government Science Secondary School, Andaha, in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, to get a commitment from Governor Abdulllahi Sule for the renovation of their school’s decayed structure was on Thursday dashed as the governor drove out of the school after spending close to two hours in the premises without inspecting the facilities.
Governor Sule, who attended the flag off of the 2021 cropping season that took place at the school football pitch could not go round the school to see things for himself as expected by the students.
The students who were earlier jubilating and in top spirit before his arrival with the hope that the governor would inspect the school after the programme and direct those concerned to renovate the dilapidated structures, left them in disappointment as he immediately boarded his official vehicle with a blaring siren and left.
Most of the students were left in shock as their expectation was different from what they got from what they were told about the governor.
While some of the students were of the view that the governor was not concerned about their plight, others said his action might have been a as result of fatigue and tiredness from the event thus needs rest.
One of the students said; “May be he is going somewhere to come back later and see us”.
Governor Sule, who arrived the school from Abuja, however had a stopover in Keffi to inspect Federal Government College, Keffi, and other projects embarked upon by his administration before coming to the venue of the programme.
Our correspondent who went round the school reports that most of the structures are in dilapidated state while some are uncompleted just as most of the teachers that were not having lectures were seen sitting under the trees around the school premises owing to lack of office accommodation.
The programme which had in attendance prominent personalities including commissioners, Senators and members of the State House of Assembly was for the flagging off of the 2021 fertilizers sales and other farm implements.
