APC Receives Report on Feud Between Speaker Dogara, Gov Abubakar

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Tuesday assured that National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party will proceed expeditiously to take action and whatever is necessary to crack the hard nut of restoring peace to its Bauchi State chapter.

Receiving the report of its six-member fact-finding and reconciliation committee on Bauchi State at APC National Secretariat in Abuja, Odigie-Oyegun also assured the Party will work expeditiously to take further action on the reports finding and recommendations.

In his remarks, while submitting the Report, Chairman of the Committee and Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige said that there remained an overarching desire for peace and reconciliation provided certain minimum conditions are met.

Ngige further said that whatever roles and actions each individual played or took, the Party’s interest seemed to be the dominant consideration.

He said the Committee met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara; some members of the National Assembly and Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State in the course of its fact-finding and reconciliatory engagements with stakeholders.

According to him; “The Committee noticed that there remained an overarching desire for peace and reconciliation provided certain minimum conditions are met.

“Whatever roles and actions each individual played or took, the interest of the Party seemed to be the dominant consideration, adding that all relevant Party stakeholders in Bauchi state are ready for peace and reconciliation.”

Other members of the Committee that accompanied Senator Ngige include General Lawrence Onoja; Senator Oserheimen Osunbor; General Lawal Jafar Isa; Alhaji Gambo Magaji and the secretary of the Committee, Alhaji Yahaya Alfa.
