Constituents Give Senator Abubakar Red Card
BY BEM TAR, JALINGO – The constituents of Senator Sani Danladi Abubakar in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, have collectively passed a vote of no confidence on him with a vow to get a replacement for him in 2919.
The people’s stern position was presented by Alhaji Yakubu Ankamata at the town hall meeting with Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku and stakeholders of Karim Lamido and Lau Local Government Areas that held at the Government lodge, Karim town.
According to Alhaji Ankamata, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), returned all their elected representatives during the 2015 general elections but wonder why Senator Abubakar, representing Taraba North Senatorial district, would be absent during the Governor’s visit to one of the Local Government Areas in his Senatorial districts.
Ankamata’s stand received a standing ovation from the people of Karim Lamido, who chanted and shouted on top of their voices in support of the red card shown to Senator Abubakar for daring to absent himself during the Governor’s visit to the Area.
Spokesman of Karim Lamido told Forefront that the people now feel so disappointed at the election of the former acting governor of Taraba State, which they consider as ‘a wasted mandate’ given the Senator’s lack of adequate representation and impact both in the Senate as well as the home front.
According to him; “Senator Abubakar, after two years in the Senate, has not been able to influence any project in the national budget for his senatorial district, not even to influence an allocation in the ones initiated by former Senators in the Senatorial district.
“It is time the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state get a replacement for Senator Sani Abubakar in the 2019 election which is already close by for effective representation.”
Efforts made to contact Senator Abubakar for his reaction proved futile as calls and messages put across to his mobile telephone did not go through.
