COVID-19: Give Life Insurance To Health and Security Personnel – Nasarawa Monarch Urges Buhari

BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – A Traditional ruler in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Ogah Onawo, the Andoma of Doma, has appealed to President Muhammdau Buhari and State governors to provide life insurance packages for Health and security personnel for putting their lives on the line to save others during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The traditional ruler, who made the appeal in an interview in his palace, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, said that as essential workers, both health and security personnel have risked their lives even in the face of death to ensure that the country do not go into extinction with the ravage of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him; “They are more than just heroes. They are our champions, they deserve our commendation and government needs to provide life insurance packages to boost their morale.
“They deserve all the accolades. Nigerians must pray for them. While we observe the social distance and other health advices, they are out there protecting others.”
The Andoma of Doma also said that they are the most vulnerable of the vulnerable, because
they face death in the face, saying; “We must assist them stay alive by adhering to safety measures to reduce their risks.”
He commended the Federal and State governments for creating the awareness on COVID-19 and therefor urged every citizen to play his part by adhering to safety measures.
Onawo however urged the Federal and the Nasarawa State government to do more by widening the scope in the provision of palliatives so that more people will have access to cushion the effect of the lockdown order just as he called on Nigerians to tow the path of peaceful co-existence by working in harmony with government and other health expert by ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations.
He said that if Nigerians adhere to safety measures, it would go a long way in protecting lives and killing the pandemic in the country.
