COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Hits 1095 Mark, Records 114 New Cases

BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – With Twenty-seven (27) States now on the roll call, Nigeria has recorded a total of 1095 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) as at 11.30pm on Friday, April 24, 2020.
Figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) indicated that Zamfara is the newest state to have reported a confirmed case in the last 24 hours.
Furthermore, the NCDC said at the end of business on the day, One Hundred and Fourteen (114) new confirmed cases and one new death were recorded in the country.
Of the 1095 cases confirmed, NCDC explained that 208 cases have been successfully treated and discharged while thirty two (32) deaths have been recorded in 27 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
The Centre gave the breakdown of the 114 fresh cases as coming from nine (9) states with Lagos as usual recording the highest number of eighty (80) cases.
Also on the list are Gombe State with twenty-one (21); FCT – Five (5); Zamfara and Edo states – two (2) each; while four states, Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna and Sokoto recorded one (1) case each.

In the last 24 hours, number of new cases increased by 114. Number of deaths increased by one (1)
Five (5) cases previously recorded in Lagos, are now recorded as Ogun State cases
