Father Hails Court Judgment As Justice For Hanifa
Malam Abubakar Abdulsalam, father of the late school girl, Hanifa Abubakar on Thursday expressed happiness that the Court delivered justice for his little Hanifa.
Abubakar made the comments in reaction to the court judgment sentencing the killer, Tanko Abdulmalik, and his accomplice, Hashimu Ishyaku to death by hanging.
Hailing the court’s judgment as justice properly served, Malam Abubakar said; “I’m happy today that Hanifa, my daughter, has gotten justice. We appreciated everyone’s effort, in this case, justice has been well served,” Abubakar stated.
Recall that little Hanifa was kidnapped on 4th December 2021 by her proprietor, Tanko on her way from Islamiyya School, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Islamiyya. After his arrest, the Kano Police Command, through its spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, then disclosed that the suspects had demanded a ransom of six million Naira from the parent of the kid.

According to the police, confessing to lacing a tea with rat poison to kill Hannifa, Tanko connived with Hashimu to bury her remains in a shallow grave within the school premises at North West Preparatory school, located in Kwanar ‘Yan Gana, Tudun Murtala Quarters in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Police statement then said; “Hashim also confessed that sometimes in the month of November 2021, the principal suspect, Abdulmalik met him and one Fatima Jibreel Musa, ‘f’, 27 years old, of Layin Falaki Tudun Murtala Quarters, Nassarawa LGA Kano State and ordered them to kidnap Hanifa. They planned but later rescinded their action. Fatima was also arrested.
“The suspects led a combined Team of Operatives of DSS Kano State, Kano State Police Command’s Medical Team, and Team of Operation Puff Adder to the scene. The body was exhumed and rushed to Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital Kano, examined, confirmed dead by a Medical Doctor, and released to the relatives for burial according to Islamic rites.”
Amid the public outrage that trailed the dastardly act, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje promised that there would be no hesitation in endorsing the death sentence when eventually passed by the court.
