FCT PDP Chairman Dies On Election Day
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Sunday Zaka, is dead.
According to reports, Mr Zaka died in an auto accident early hours of Saturday while returning home from a late political meeting of his party at the City Centre
However, a close associate of the deceased, Bawa Benjamin, who confirmed the incident through telephone, said the accident happened around 2 am along the Guda-Arena road, Kuje town.
He said the deceased lost control of his Peugeot car and crashed into a tree on his way home after attending the party’s closed doors meeting in Abuja.
Bawa said Zaka was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada where the doctors confirmed him dead.
The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, while also confirming the PDP chairman’s death, described it as a sad day for the FCT political family.
Also, a PDP chieftain, Michael Kpatuba who broke the news via a post on his Facebook page on Saturday morning, said; “Dying Election day is really heartbroken to the FCT, PDP family.”

Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, the family of Zaka, popularly called HIV by his admirers, was still being expected to speak on the unfortunate incident.
