FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Holidays for Eid-el-Fitr

The Federal Government has declared June 15 and 18 as public holidays for the 2018 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The declaration was made by Minister of Interior, Lt-General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) on behalf of the Federal Government.

According to a statement in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr M. B. Umar, the Minister congratulated the Muslim faithful on a successful completion of the Ramadan fast.

He also urged all Nigerians to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the country.

General Dambazau expressed government’s desire for all Nigerians to be inspired by the virtues gained during the holy month of Ramadan to live a life of sacrifice, charity and love for one another.

The Minister encouraged all Nigerians to join hands with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in taking the country to greater heights.

He therefore wished all Nigerians a happy, peaceful and rewarding Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
