The destroyed market had unsettled the traders’ businesses with some relocating to the ever-busy Akwanga Road while others, mostly Yam sellers, moved over to occupy spaces on Lafia Road
In the process, this development seriously affected business within the locality, leading to huge losses in revenue generation to the state and local governments.
Forefront gathered that the state government had paid over 40 million Naira as compensation to the traders before demolition with a promise to reconsider them after remodeling and modernising the market for business activities.
Some traders, who spoke when the State government officially handed over the project site to contractors, expressed joy the modern market will create a situation for them to be back together again.
State President of the Traders’ Association, Turaki Gamji appreciated the State government for rebuilding the market and promised to ensure a good relationship with the state government.

According to him, having the Traders’ association manage the remodeled market and other markets across the state will aid in ensuring more revenue generation for government.
