Governor el-Rufai Executed Many Projects In Kagarko LG – Deputy Speaker
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and member, representing Kagarko constituency, Hon Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya, has expressed delight with Governor Nasir el-Rufai-led administration for citing projects in his constituency that have uplifted the living standards of the people.
Speaking to journalists in Kaduna, Shadalafiya said the projects worth billions of naira are spread all over Kagarko local government area, adding that while some have been completed and are being enjoyed by the people, others are at various stages of completion.
Shadalafiya noted that roads construction are ongoing in the local government, saying that when completed, the roads would enhance the movement of people and goods from the farms to markets as well as enhance inter local government movement with ease.
The deputy speaker said; “I am very sure that the roads construction apart from the movement of people and goods, will also motivate people to farm more food and cash crops because of easy movement and in turn enhanced their economic power.
“Our people have suffered in the past without any positive result to connect them with other local government areas, but with the roads construction ongoing, l tell you, our people are pleased with the development going on in their local government and are also pleased with what the present administration is doing in the area.”
On efforts aimed at achieving peaceful coexistence in the state, Shadalafiya said that he invited religious and traditional leaders to the State House of Assembly and had discussions with them on ways towards ensuring better mutual understanding and how they can live in peace regardless of any difference.
On health, Shadalafiya announced that about 10 Primary Health Care centers have been renovated to standard adding that some have already started working while others are at various stages of completion.
In the area of education, he said schools have also been renovated just as a Government Science Secondary School cited in the local government is at 60 per cent completion while he has personally provided books to all the schools as part of his contribution towards enhancing learning of children in the area.
He said he has gotten a bill passed in the State Assembly that is now ensuring the clearing of trucks at Tafa, on the Kaduna-Abuja highway, saying that the clearance of the trucks would enhance free flow of traffic.
This is just as he said that the park being constructed for the trucks would enhanced business activities and revenue to the local and the state governments.
The deputy speaker commended Governor el-Rufai for enhancing the capacity building of members of the State House of Assembly which he noted has enhanced their performances as legislators.
He also said that he moved motions that put a stop to the sale of alcohol and other hard drugs along major highways as well as the indiscriminate drying of food and cash crops along the highways in the state.
Speaking on his chances of being re-elected to the State House of Assembly, Shadalafiya opined that; “I am of the opinion that my efforts in changing the standards of living of my people will give me an advantage over other candidates who are aspiring to go to the house in 2019.”
It is very instructive that Nuhu Goroh has not named any specific project being executed by El Rufai in Kagarko LGA. There are actually none to be seen, unless he claims they are in the interior. I urge Koro Development Association and Gbagyi Development Union to visit all Wards in the LGA and report the situation.
