Leadership Tussle: Nasarawa Assembly Summons Governor Sule’s Appointees
BY AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has expressed dismay over the leadership tussle at the Nasarawa State Urban Development Board (NUDB).
Accordingly, the House of Assembly has summoned the Senior Special Assistant on Development Control, Arc. Stanley Buba and the Managing Director of the board, Adamu Sule to appear before it next week.
The state legislature decried the decline in performance of the NUDB due to crisis of leadership between the Managing Director, Adamu Sule and the SSA to the governor on Developmet Control, Arc Stanley Buba.
The House said it is not in the interest of the state and therefore hampering performance of the board and by extension the development of the state.
Chairman of the Committee on NUDB of the Assembly, Hon Suleiman Azara, lamented the unhealthy rivalry between the two senior officers of the board and assured that the Assembly would address the matter once and for all.
According to Azara; “There is a very serious problem in NUDB which we cannot fold our hands to see it grow. The governor respect rule of law and we must work in accordance with the law that established NUDB to resolve the matter once and for all.
“The problem in the organization has affected its performance negatively,” he said.
Contributing, Hon Mohammed Aga Muluku, stressed that for the past nine years of his being a member of NUDB committee, there was never a time the board experienced crisis of this magnitude, hence the need for the House to resolve it once and for all.
The Chairman of the committee, Hon Azara and a member of the committee, Hon David Maiyaki, who were all former staff of NUDB and other members of the committee lamented the missing link in the system and promised to close the gap.
The committee resolved to invite the parties namely the Mohammed and Buba to appear before the House next week on the matter.
