BY VICTOR BUORO – Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Tsenyil Yiltsen, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to forge strong partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to address security challenges confronting the North Central geo-political zone.
He said the strategic collaboration is focused on ensuring a robust, and secure environment as the backbone of North Central development as well as the essential shield required to protect the region’s future.
Speaking when a delegation of the Nasarawa State Command of the NSCDC visited the Commission’s headquarters in Lafia, the State capital, Dr Yilten acknowledged the support and cooperation the NCDC has received from the Corps since its establishment in February 2025, when President Bola Tinubu signed the North Central Development Commission (Establishment) Act, 2024, into law.
He lauded the dedication, professionalism, and commitment of the NSCDC, noting that the Commission holds the security outfit in high esteem because of the cordial working relationship already established between both organisations.

According to him, the NCDC appreciates the inseparable link between regional security and development, noting that the Commission would always carry along all security stakeholders in the execution of development projects and programmes across the region.
Furthermore, Dr. Yiltsen said with the Commission expanding its footprint, a strategic, ironclad collaboration with security forces is vital to protecting infrastructure and ensuring initiatives reach fruition, especially in terms of monitoring and securing projects, as well as other development initiatives.
In his remarks, the Nasarawa State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant Samson Omaru, said the visit was to reciprocate an earlier engagement the NCDC Management had with the Command while further strengthening institutional ties with the Commission in order to bridge the gap between security and regional growth.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the NCDC’s mandate through continuous collaboration, professionalism, and its unwavering mandate of protecting critical national infrastructure and assets while also appreciating the Commission for recognizing the Corps as a “key partner.”
Pledging that the NSCDC would remain a steadfast ally in the Commission’s drive to transform the North Central zone, Commandant Omaru also reiterated the Corps’ loyalty and commitment to service, noting that security remains essential for sustainable growth and development.
Present during the visit were the Commission’s top officials, including Executive Director of Administration and Human Resources, Hajiya Bilqis Jumoke Sani, and Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, James Abel Uloko among others.
