NCPC Boosts Staff Capacity For Effective Service Delivery
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – In an effort to build capacity for improved service delivery, the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has packaged a staff training programme at one of Nigeria’s foremost training institutes, the Centre For Management Development (CMD), Magodo, Ikeja in Lagos State.
The programme aims at equipping the personnel to effectively and successfully handle this year’s general pilgrimage operations in a seamless manner.
The capacity building programme, which is an all inclusive package that cuts across all cadres and levels of staff, will be conducted in batches.
A statement by NCPC said the programme is in fulfilment of its Executive Secretary, Reverend Yakubu Pam’s pledge to improve staff welfare when he assumed office on July 7, 2020.
According to the statement, aside the knowledge gained, the training will serve as a morale booster and further spur the workers to give their best in serving the Commission.
The statement explained that the NCPC boss strong belief in capacity building informed his approval that staff be trained in strategic areas of Christian pilgrimage operations barely 100 days of being in office.
Rev Pam has not minced words in promising that this year’s December general pilgrimage to Israel, Rome and Greece would be a reference point and the most efficiently organised in the Commission’s history.
An insider, who described the staff training as “timely, needful and beneficial”, disclosed that the last time the Commission organised such a programme was in year 2013.
