Nigerian Troops Eliminate Bicycle-Riding Terrorists
BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The Nigerian Army on Wednesday said its troops of 22 Brigade Dikwa, under 7 Division of Operation LAFIA DOLE in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force ambushed suspected members of Boko Haram terrorists between Bulabirin and Mongole villages of Dikwa Local Government Area in Borno State.
It further said that during an encounter, which took place on Monday August 7, 2017, the troops neutralized six terrorists, while several others sustained various bullet wounds.
A statement by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman, said the troops also recovered six bicycles, three dane guns and one machete from the terrorists.
Usman said that in the same vein, troops of 233 Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Tuesday August 8, 2017, intercepted fleeing Boko Haram terrorists members, Kiri Imoru and Tijjani Goni at Sasawa village.
The Army said the two terrorists claimed to have escaped from a hideout at Futchumaram, Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Brigadier General Usman assured that the Nigerian Army will sustain the clearance operation until unrepentant terrorists are eliminated from the shores of Nigeria.
