The Department of State Services (DSS), has said that following the execution of a valid search warrant on the office and residence of the chief negotiator with terrorists that attacked an Abuja-Kaduna bound train and abducted some of its passengers, Tukur Mamu, it made consequential recoveries.
Mamu was arrested in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday and deported to Nigeria on Wednesday into the waiting hands of the State Secret police.
Giving an update on the arrested Mamu, the Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Mr. Peter Afunanya Ph.D, said that some items were discovered in the course of the search in both the office and residence of the chief negotiator with terrorists.
Afunanya specifically said that military accoutrements and large amounts of money in different currencies were found as parts of evidence of financial transactions.
In the words of Afunanya; “So far, appropriate security agencies have executed valid search warrants on Mamu’s residence and office.
“During the processes, incriminating materials including military accoutrements were recovered. Other items include large amounts in different currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments.
“While further investigations continue, Mamu will, sure, have a day in court,” the DSS spokesman said.
