2 Female Suicide Bombers Killed In Maiduguri
BY MELVIN UCHE, MAIDUGURI – No fewer than two female suicide bombers were on Saturday confirmed dead, While no less than five others sustained various degrees of injuries when the suicide bombers attacked a mosque at Juddari village in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
According to the Borno State police Public Relations Officer, DSP Victor Isuku, the two female suicide bombers, with IED strapped to their bodies, attempted to enter a mosque at Juddari village, near Federal High Court in Maiduguri when they were intercepted and prevented by Muslim Worshippers and in the process , one of them detonated her vest, killing both of them and five others.
“At about 0520hrs on Saturday, two female suicide bombers with IED strapped to their bodies attempted to enter a mosque at Add to dictionary village, after federal high court.
“They were intercepted and prevented by the Muslim worshippers. In the process, one of them detonated her vest, killing both of them and injuring five others. The injured were rushed to specialist hospital, while the remains of the suicide bombers were equally evacuated by SEMA ,
“The second unexploded IED from the second suicide bomber was detonated by the command’s EOD team at the scene. The area have been rendered safe as normalcy has returned “, DSP Isuku said.
