2023 Polls: No Stopping ‘Phenomenal’ Tinubu’s First Ballot Victory – APC Chieftain
BY UBON EKANEM, CALABAR – An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain and former Deputy Governorship candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Cross River State, Elder David Okon, has predicted the first ballot victory for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s candidate in the February 23 presidential election.
Okon, who is the Chairman of the APC Elders Forum and Tinubu Support Groups in the state, said the candidate’s massive grassroots support and formidable antecedents will deliver victory after the first round of voting.
The APC stalwart described the former Lagos State Governor as a phenomenon that has touched and impacted so many lives across the country irrespective of ethnic, religious and political divides.

Speaking at the inauguration of State, Senatorial, and Local Government Coordinators of Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council for Cross River in Calabar, Elder Okon said; “I have said this on several occasions without any equivocation that Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima will win in the first ballot.
“This is because apart from the level of acceptability and love for Asiwaju Tinubu across the country, the campaign is generally grassroots-based. The phenomenon called Tinubu has, apart from touching and impacting lives, made things happen where they would not have ordinarily worked.
“What he did in Lagos State stands him out as a colossus in capital, infrastructural and human development and I know all of us would want a situation where such feats are replicated in Nigeria.”
Further offering insight on his forecast of first-ballot victory, the APC Elder said; “He (Tinubu) is progressive and one man that can cause things to happen. This is why Nigerians want him. This is why he is going to win massively to create a new paradise with renewed hope for this nation.”
Elder Okon, while maintaining that this year’s general elections will usher in a new Nigeria which is the dream of many citizens through Tinubu’s presidency, said; “The support the APC candidate is getting comes from the grassroots and I know he does not play elitist or metropolitan politics.”
