A Cry For Help: Gombe Govt Offers Medicare To Buhari’s Trekking Man

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, GOMBE – Goodwill has come to take away the limp pains being suffered by citizen Dahiru Buba who trekked from Gombe to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in celebration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory after the 2019 presidential election.
The kind gesture is from the Gombe state government which has offered to foot the bill for Buba’s medical treatment.
The intervention followed recent media reports on Dahiru, a native of Dukku Local Government area of Gombe state, who claimed to be suffering from limp ailment due to the tasking long trek he undertook in year 2019.
Consequently, the state government has directed his immediate evacuation to a medical facility for proper diagnosis and adequate medical care
The media was recently awash with the story of Dahiru Buba sending a Save my soul message to the government and public spirited individuals for financial aid after developing limb complications from his solidarity trek undertaken to celebrate President Buhari’s second term victory at the polls.
On Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s order, the Buhari diehard was immediately taken to the Government House clinic, Gombe from where he was later referred to a private orthopedic hospital for thorough examination and eventual placement on proper medication.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after undergoing the first round of his medical treatment, Dahiru thanked the Governor for promptly interventing in his case.
He explained that the feeling of some discomfort on his limbs started shortly after returning home from his fifteen days solidarity walk to Abuja, adding that the pains gradually become more excruciating every passing day.
Commenting on Dahiru’s ailment, Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya and Isa Faruk who coordinated his evacuation from Dukku to Gombe, said he has been suffering serious limp pains since his return from the solidarity walk to Abuja for Mr President.
They however expressed delight and optimism that, “With the intervention of Gombe state government, Dahiru Buba will be properly diagnosed and treated “.
Describing Governor Yahaya’s gesture as unprecedented and heart warming, they prayed that the Almighty Allah will reward him abundantly.
They also acknowledged the support rendered to the patient’s family by the State Commissioner of Finance, Muhammad Gambo Magaji, whom they said has shown tremendous support and concern since he learnt about Dahiru’s condition as contained in a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli
