Hajj 2019: 44 Flights Bring 23,611 Pilgrims Home – NAHCON
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says about 23,611 pilgrims have so far been airlifted back to Nigeria in 44 flights’ operations.
According to its command and control Centre in Makkah monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, the latest returnees are 427 pilgrims from Sokoto State aboard Flynas flight XY7476.
No fewer than 1.8 million pilgrims around the world, including 65,000 pilgrims from Nigeria, performed the 2019 hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
Recalled that the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims, who performed the 2019 Hajj exercise, were airlifted back home on Saturday, August 17 after a successful Hajj operation.
The return flight into the country commenced with pilgrims from Lagos and Katsina states via the Jeddah International Airport.
Acting Chairman of NAHCON, Abdullahi Muhammad, explained the flight schedule at the post Arafat stakeholders’ meeting held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. – NAN
