Scores Feared Dead In Mubi Mosque Bomb Blast
The horror of deadly attacks on worship centres staged a comeback on Tuesday, as a mosque located in Mubi in Adamawa State was destroyed, with no fewer than 50 persons said to have died in the incident. Several others injured in the attack were taken to hospitals for treatment.
However, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), only 15 lives were lost in the early morning attack on the mosque.
According to Malam Idris Garga, who is the North-east Coordinator of the Agency, said “So far 15 people are killed and about 20 sustained, different degrees of injuries in the Mubi Mosque bomb blast.”
He disclosed that considering the nature of attack, members of Boko Haram may have been behind the attack, as it was targeted at Muslim worshipers performing morning prayers.
The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), Malam Haruna Hamman-Furo, also confirmed that 15 people were killed and several others injured due to the blast.
