The Nigeria Police Force on Saturday, April 11, 2026, unsealed the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) situated at Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

Following violent clashes between rival factions at Wadata Plaza, the FCT Police command had in November 2025, sealed the PDP national secretariat and Legacy House Presidential campaign office in Maitama.

In unsealing of the secretariat, the police granted the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike access to the building.

This was announced in a statement by Jungudo Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary of the Wike-led PDP, stating that both the Wadata Plaza secretariat and the presidential campaign office, Legacy House in Maitama, were unsealed in compliance with court orders.

Jungudo Mohammed said; “The properties have now been handed over to the Mohammed-led National Working Committee, with Senator Samuel Anyanwu recognised as National Secretary”.

The statement commended the police for their adherence to the rule of law and professionalism, stating that the action of the police was a “a clear demonstration of respect for constitutional order and due process.”

Mohammed warned that the party would not tolerate any obstruction, disruption, or breach of peace at the secretariat, stressing that security agencies were prepared to act against violators.

According to Mohammed; “This development reassures members that recent challenges have been effectively resolved. I urged aggrieved members to sheathe their swords and embrace unity in the party’s collective interest”.

He particularly thanked the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and other PDP stakeholders for their invaluable support, saying; “Together, we move forward stronger, united, and more committed to our shared vision”.

Meanwhile, the Tanimu Turaki-led faction has condemned the unsealing, describing it as contemptuous.

National Publicity Secretary of the faction, Comrade Ini Ememobong, noted that the court judgment cited by the Nigeria Police had been appealed, and all parties were duly informed.

In the words of Ememobong; “By this action, they have tampered with the res (the subject matter), which could render the Court of Appeal’s judgment nugatory”.

Ememobong accused the police of partisan interference and

assured that lawful steps would be taken to protect the rights of genuine PDP members.

He further said; “Though pain may tarry at night, joy will come in the morning. Let us endure with hope”.
