Destruction Of My FM Station, Ibadan: Let God Take Charge – Ayefele

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Popular gospel artiste, Yinka Ayefele, whose Fresh FM broadcasting Station in Ibadan was destroyed on Sunday morning on the orders of the Oyo State government, has said that he is leaving everything in God’s hands to take charge.

Ayefele, who said this when dozens of his fans gathered at the premises of the demolished FM station during which many them sobbed while others rained curses on the governor of the state that gave approval for the demolition, said the FM Station belong to the people.

Ayefele explained that he never embarked on any illegal construction of the FM Station as he followed all due processes by obtaining all necessary documents as well as required approvals before he built the multi-million naira structure.

Forefront gathered that Ayefele had filed a motion for an interlocutory against the Oyo State Governor and government against carrying out the demolition of the FM Stattion.

In the motion, Ayefele asked the court to restrain the defendants/respondents (Oyo State Government) whether by themselves, their servants, agents, privies or any person acting pursuant to the instruction of the defendants/respondents from demolishing or attempt to demolish the property of the claimants/applicants lying, being and situate at plot 11A and 11B along link ring road to Lagos express road, Ibadan, Oyo State or in any manner proceeding to enforce the notice of demolition dated 13 August 13, 2018 with reference No. TF20181308/002 issued by the defendants pending the determination of the substantive suit..”

However, the Oyo State government ignored the restraining order and went ahead with the demolition of the FM Station.
